The Results of Medicationg Diamox in Stead of Retrobulbar Injection at Cataract Surgery



Abstract
As retrobulbar injectlon at cataract surgery was encountered many difficult problems, the authors gave diamox instead of retrobulbar injection to 32 eyes in 26 cases prior to operation, and obtained following favorable results.
1). By giving diamox, intraocular pressure¡» dropped by 21.3% on the average
2). No significant complications were experienced in the cases whose preoperative intraocular pressure were below 13.5 mmHg.
3). Considering, the complication of retrobulbar injection, it could be, by giving diamox, discontinued.
